In order for a company to operate for the first time, a number of shares equal to or
greater than the number of the current train type available for purchase from the bank
must have been sold when the company's turn to operate arrives. Such shares may be owned
by players or be in the bank pool. Diesels are regarded as '6' trains for this purpose. |

| Funding |
Determined when the president's certificate is purchased.
Prior to the availability of the first '5' train, funded directly from sales to a maximum
of 50%. Any balance from sales is held in escrow and released when the company reaches its
destination. Proceeds from any sales made after the company reaches its destination are
paid to the company.
Once the first '5' train is available, funded directly from sales to its full value.
Once the first '6' train is available, fully funded when floated. |

| Share Price Movement |
| Down one row for each full 10% share sold into the pool. The sale of a single 5% share
does not affect the share value. Sales of multiple 5% shares move the share value down one
row for each full 10% sold. |
| Up one row if all shares are owned by players at the end of a stock round. |
| Right one column when a company pays a dividend. |
| Left one column when a company does not pay a dividend. |
