Five Bedouin tribes are beginning to inhabit the empty desert. They establish caravans, occupy water holes and link oases, while enclosing desert areas, thereby gaining victory points. In each round, you place two camels on the board. But which caravans should you develop, and in which direction, to establish yourself as the most successful lord of the desert? Guide your caravans wisely to earn the most points.

Playing via the Web

As with all games, rules are required. Please read the rules of engagement that cover For Whom The Web Rocks games. The following additional rules apply to these Durch die Wüste games.

Durch die Wüste games require two to five players.
Please use a subject of DDW exxx when sending orders (replace the 'xxx' with the game number, e.g. DDW e999).
The moves covering the initial placement of camels should be responded to as soon as possible to avoid dragging out the start of the game.
When two camels are placed in one turn, they will be placed in the order given. Obvious (i.e. illegal) reversals will be corrected, but if a reversal is legal, it will be considered binding once published.
Moves made for players by the referee will normally involve placing camels to benefit the player, but no great thought will go into these moves.
