All games from Euphrat & Tigris e12 on use the English Variant rules.
In Euphrat & Tigris, the aim of each player is to develop the four key spheres of
civilisation: settlements, temples, farms and markets. To do this, players will
position their leaders, create and extend kingdoms, build monuments and resolve conflicts,
thereby gaining victory points in each of the four spheres. The winner is the player
who develops their civilisation in a balanced way, without revealing a sphere of weakness.
Euphrat & Tigris was designed by Reiner Knizia and is published by Hans im Glück (German edition) and Mayfair Games (English edition).

Playing via the Web
As with all games, rules are required. Please read the rules
of engagement that cover For Whom The Web Rocks
games. The following additional rules apply to these Euphrat & Tigris games.
- Euphrat & Tigris games require two to four players.
- Please use a subject of E&T exxx when
sending orders (replace the 'xxx' with the game number, e.g. E&T
e999).
- Private information is available from the game information
area. Players will be provided with usernames and passwords to access their
information.
- Games will normally play to the English Variant rules.
Use of this variant reduces game delays as fewer conflicts will require player decisions.
- In addition, the Artist Expansion can be used. When
you join a game you can choose which type of game to play.
- When a leader moves within the board to another, please order this as {leader} moves
from {location} to {location}.
- Where orders create conflict, the ordering player should indicate which sphere will be
dealt with first (if appropriate), and how many tiles they are playing in support of this
conflict. If no support is ordered, none will be assumed.
- When conflicts occur, the players involved in the conflict will be contacted when
necessary for decisions on support. These messages should be responded to as soon as
possible.
- Where orders create conflict, orders for the remainder of the turn are not required
until the outcome of the conflict is known.
- When a move allows a Treasure to be taken, the player should specify with their orders
which Treasure to take, bearing in mind the need to take the four corner Treasures first
if involved.
- If a player does not specify which Treasure to take, the Treasure furthest away from the
Trader in the Kingdom will be taken. If the Treasures are the same distance from the
Trader, a random selection will be made.
- Moves made for players by the referee will normally involve playing tiles to gain
victory points in their weakest spheres, but avoiding conflict where possible.
However, if the player has no leaders on the board, one or more leaders may be placed
instead.
