The 15th century Princes of Burgundy devote their efforts to trading and building in order to develop their estates.

Two dice offer you your options, but the players always make the final choices. Whether trading or livestock farming, city building or scientific research, many different paths lead to the prosperity and prominence of the players' estates.

The many ways to gain victory points in this building game require careful thought round after round, along with extensive forward planning. Due to the different estate designs that are available, the game remains challenging time after time, as no two games play out alike.

The Castles of Burgundy was designed by Stefan Feld and is published by alea/Ravensburger.

Playing via the Web

As with all games, rules are required. Please read the rules of engagement that cover For Whom The Web Rocks games. The following additional rules apply to these Carcassonne games.

Games of The Castles of Burgundy require two to four players.
Please use a subject of Castles exxx, Burgundy exxx or CoB exxx when sending orders (replace the 'xxx' with the game number, e.g. CoB e999).
Games may be played to the basic rules, or may include Spielbox and/or Monastery rules. When you join a game you can choose which type of game to play. Visit the options page to find out what is available.
The game page will show the current position of the game. As there is no hidden information in this game, you should always order for an entire turn.
When writing your orders, please make sure it is clear which die is being used for which action, whether Workers are to be used to modify the dice, which depots tiles are coming from, and which locations in your estate tiles are being put into.
Moves made for players by the referee will normally involve actions to improve the player's potential score. Priority will be given to placing tiles to complete regions or gain other bonuses.
